The SCS Brushing Machine is built to TMW’s exacting specifications by Red Bud Industries. The machine threads sheets or coil through a series of special cylindrical ‘brushes’ made of an engineered abrasive. The brushes spin at 900 rpm as the steel passes through them.

The scale brushed off is flushed away by jets of ordinary water which also cools the brushes. The water is filtered and recirculated to the process, while scale is collected for disposal. Neither is hazardous.

The SCS Brushing Machine is easy to set up and operate. Brushes need to be replaced approximately every 40,000 tons of material. Brush Machine uptime is impressive.
