By replacing temper pass, SCS can lower the resources needed to prep the steel for painting. SCS can even reduce the need for chemicals used for paint pre-treatment.

And what are SCS byproducts? Water, which is filtered and recirculated to the brushing process. Scale, which is nonhazardous, and can be disposed of in your scrap bin.
